Cross Alex Suber’s name off the long list of Winnipeg Blue Bomber prospective free agents.
The Bombers announced today they have re-signed Suber, who was scheduled to become a free agent next month.
“Alex is a proven player in this league. He brings an attitude to the field and is a great athlete on both defence and special teams,” said Bomber GM Kyle Walters in a press release. “He was a player on our free agent list we targeted very early on as a guy we wanted back and the organization is very excited to have him wearing the Bomber uniform for the foreseeable future.”

Suber, a defensive back, will be entering his fifth CFL season in 2014, all with the Bombers. He started 18 games at halfback for the Bombers in 2013, finishing fifth on the club with 54 tackles, tied for the team lead with two interceptions, while adding one fumble recovery and six special-teams tackles.
The Bombers have re-signed offensive lineman Steve Morley, punter Mike Renaud and fullback Michel-Pierre Pontbriand – all of whom were headed to free agency – and are still negotiating with a few others in advance of the market opening on Feb. 15th.
