WINNIPEG — A few hours after Jets coach Paul Maurice hinted at it, the NHL team assigned defenceman Paul Postma to the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps on a conditioning assignment.

Postma, 24, has not played since October 26, when he went out of the lineup with a blood clot in his leg.

The medical condition has been resolved and the Red Deer, Alta., native is cleared for action and back practising with the team.
