The playoff field is set at the 2014 Safeway Championship at MTS Iceplex.
Four B-side qualifying games Friday afternoon determined the final berths into the 8-team playoff round that begins at Iceplex Friday night.
Richard Muntain defeated Richard Daneault 8-2; Steen Sigurdson defeated Justin Richter 7-4; Steve Irwin defeated David Kraichy 6-3; and Randy Neufeld defeated Trevor Loreth 8-6 in an extra end.
The matchups for the opening round of the playoffs, which begin at 7:45 p.m. tonight, are: Jeff Stoughton will play Neufeld; Mike McEwen will play Muntain; Rob Fowler will play Sigurdson; and Willie Lyburn will play Irwin.
Those eight teams will play down to a four-team page playoff format, which begins Saturday night. The winner of Sunday afternoon’s final will go on to represent Manitoba at the Brier in Kamloops, Mar. 1-9.
