Police continue to hunt for a Manitoba gang associate in hopes of bringing closure to a recent homicide case.

A Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder remains in effect for Justin Atelard Catcheway for his suspected involvement in the January homicide of Justin Desmarais, police said Thursday.

The 30-year-old Catcheway is described as an aboriginal male, 5’10”, weighing about 260 pounds with a heavy build, short straight black hair, pockmarked skin, thin moustache, goatee and a tattoo on the right side of his neck.

Police believe he’s an associate of the Manitoba Warriors street gang.

On Jan. 19 at about 3 p.m., Justin Desmarais, 24, was found dead in a home located on the 200 block of Andrews Street. Police believe an argument took place in the house.

People are advised not to approach Catcheway and to contact police at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 if they know of his whereabouts.
