The city has launched an online information service to help people avoid frozen water pipes.
The website, on the city’s web page, is called the Electronic Citizens’ Information Service.
By going to http://cms00asa1.winnipeg.ca/ and keying in an address, the website will notify people whether their address is on the list of properties that have been notified to run water 24 hours a day to prevent pipes from freezing.
Regardless of whether their address is on the list, people will be directed to another part of the city’s website for further information.
