The number of properties without water due to frozen water lines continues to increase.
City hall said Monday afternoon there have now been 2,180 properties with frozen water lines; an increase of 23 since Sunday and 68 since Friday.
While the city continues to restore water service to affected properties, it’s still not able to keep up — meaning the numbers on the waiting list continue to grow.
There are now 1,359 properties with frozen pipes: nine more than were reported Sunday and 27 more properties than were reported Friday.
The city has restored full water service to 821 properties, and increase of 14 from Sunday, 41 more than reported on Friday.
As a half-measure, the city is providing temporary water service by connecting a hose to a neighbouring property. There are now 637 properties with a hose connection.
