Former Team Carey second Kristen Foster heads to Ontario

After winning bronze for Manitoba at this year’s Scotties, former Team Carey second Kristen Foster is headed to Ontario to keep on curling for reigning Ontario champion Allison Flaxey.

Foster will throw second rocks for Flaxey, who is also a former Manitoba junior and mixed champion. She will replace Lynn Kreviazuk, who has left the Flaxey rink. The change isn’t just a good fit on the sheet: Foster and Flaxey are close friends, who thrilled to learn they won their respective provincial tournaments on the same night earlier this year.

“With a bronze at the 2014 Scotties and a big run at the Olympic trials, Kristen will bring some great experience and skill to the team,” Team Flaxey announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

Foster’s move comes after skip Chelsea Carey dissolved her Manitoba team, and moved to Edmonton to take over skipping duties for Laura Crocker’s rink. Former Team Carey third Kristy McDonald has started her own foursome, which includes third Kate Cameron, second Leslie Wilson and Raunora Westcott at lead.
