Nikolaj Ehlers will be a one-of-a-kind when the Winnipeg Jets begin their third development camp next Monday at the MTS Iceplex.

Ehlers will be the only first-round draft choice in attendance, selected just last week at the annual entry draft in Philadelphia. Winnipeg chose him ninth overall.

The franchise’s other recent first-round picks will not be present. Mark Scheifele (2011) and Jacob Trouba (2012) have put in a full year in the NHL so they really don’t qualify, and 2013 first pick Josh Morrisey played 112 games in the 2012-13 season and is being granted some time to catch his breath after playing with the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps into late June in the Calder Cup final.

Six of the seven players chosen at last week’s draft will be in attendance next week.

Nic Petan and Eric Comrie will highlight the prospects from the 2013 draft at next week’s camp, while the Jets have also included promising picks in Scott Kosmachuk and Adam Lowry and J.C. Lipon.

Icetime for the camp beings on Monday at 2:15 at the Iceplex and the sessions move to the morning for the rest of the week, concluding Friday.
