Three people are in custody following a weapons and drug bust in Winnipeg’s North End neighbourhood Thursday.

A weapons investigation by members of the Winnipeg Police Service’s street crime unit and members of the national weapons enforcement team turned up a number of guns and weapons at a residence on the 300 block of Redwood Avenue.

Among the items seized were rifles, pistols, ammunition, bear spray and brass knuckles, along with 284 grams of marijuana (estimated street value $2,840).

Taylor Lynn Ashton, 19, Aaron Richard Paquin, 20, and Mathew Earle Monaco, 21, are facing numerous weapons- and drug-related charges for their alleged involvement. The three were detained at the provincial remand centre.

A fourth person, a 19-year-old man from Winnipeg, is also facing a marijuana charge. He was released on a promise to appear.
