The Goldeyes (39-23) solidified their spot atop the American Association’s North division standings with a 9-3 drubbing of the T-Bones Sunday to take the series two games to one.

Nick Hernandez pitched 7 2/3 innings with five strikeouts to get the win. Cephas Howard took to the mound in relief of Hernandez in the bottom of the eighth, and put out Danny Richar to end the inning. Taylor Sewitt finished the game for the Goldeyes, retiring three straight batters to secure the win.

Six Fish batters had multiple hits. The bats got going in the first inning, with the Goldeyes scoring three runs on five hits. Donnie Webb hit a two-run home run in the third and Josh Mazzola dinged one in the fourth.

The Goldeyes pounded the T-Bones 10-4 on Saturday. Mazzola led the way offensively with five RBI’s on three hits, including a sixth-inning grand slam.

The Goldeyes will host the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in a three-game series that goes Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with all games starting at 7 p.m. at Shaw Park.
