Offensive lineman Chris Greaves was back at his job full-time today and looks like he’s headed for a return to action this week when his Winnipeg Blue Bombers meet the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Thursday at McMaster University’s Ron Joyce Stadium.

Greaves took regular reps today at left guard as the 4-1 Bombers got back to work after their 23-6 victory Friday at B.C.

Greaves had to leave Week 2’s home-field win over the Ottawa Redblacks because of a knee injury.

Joe Bryksa / Winnipeg Free Press After injuring his knee in Week 2, offensive lineman Chris Greaves is good to go for Thursday's game in Hamilton.

“Pretty good to go,” Greaves said on the east practice field at the University of Manitoba today.

Can he play this week?

“Absolutely,” he said.

The timing of Greaves’ return is good, as offensive lineman Dan Knapp, who was at left guard last week, may be injured. Head coach Mike O’Shea was unsure today whether Knapp is a player this week, but said he expects Greaves will be good to go.

Watching his team for three weeks drove home a few things for Greaves.

“The thing you get to see is how much fight they have in them, if anything,” he said of his offensive teammates. “There’s no quitting. Versatility, more than anything, you’ve got one going from right tackle to left guard and another from left guard to right tackle, so you see the versatility and that there are guys who can plug in everywhere.”
