Police are notifying Winnipeg residents about a released sex offender they believe is at a high risk to re-offend.
Luigi Deangelis, 47, was released from Headingley Correctional Facility Wednesday and is expected to live in Winnipeg. He was designated a long-term offender and has a long-term supervision order (LTSO) imposed against him.
Deangelis was convicted for three counts of sexual assault, breaking and entering, and possessing a weapon in 2003. He was incarcerated for 14 months after breaching the terms of his LTSO.
Deangelis is described as Caucasian, with black hair, balding, hazel eyes, about 5-8 and 200 lbs.
Deangelis’ LTSO is still in effect. The terms include:
❚ Not to attend any hotel, motel, nor rent any premise, unless authorized by his parole Supervisor
❚ Not to attend any bar, hotel or strip-club
❚ Abstain from the use of alcohol
❚ Participate and complete sex offender treatment
❚ Report all female relationships to his parole supervisor
❚ Not to have or own a cellular phone without prior authorization
If anybody has information about Deangelis, they are asked to call the Manitoba Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit at 204-984-1888. Police are also reminding people that vigilante activity against him will not be tolerated.
