A new Manitoba government legislative session will begin Nov. 20 with the speech from the throne.

Government House Leader Steve Ashton made the announcement following a three-hour cabinet meeting this morning.

The brief sitting will run until Dec. 4.

Ashton promised an ambitious legislative agenda and said the NDP was focused on governing.

He would not comment on polls that put the party well behind the Tories, even in the city of Winnipeg.
