Manitoba Historical Gas Price Charts Provided by GasBuddy.com

Motorists in Winnipeg can look forward to some pocketbook relief as gas prices continue to fall, with the price at the pumps as much as 30 cents lower than it was in the summer.

Regular gas was as low as 91.4 cents per litre at Costco this morning, and 92.2 cents at a Domo on Marion Street near Turenne Street. The average for Winnipeg was 96.97 cents.

Just one month ago, prices in Winnipeg were at an average of 107.2 cents per litre. At the beginning of September, gas prices were at 123.8 cents.

Gas prices in Winnipeg are following a nationwide trend as global oil prices continue to fall, and the decline is set to continue. There is a glut in the global crude oil market, and prices fell again after OPEC, the association of major oil producers, decided to maintain its production levels. Gulf countries, led by Saudi Arabia, want to keep oil prices low to hamper shale oil producers in the U.S., who need a higher price to break even.

All this means Winnipeg drivers can expect a more pleasant experience paying at the pump in the near future. Drivers in the rest of the province can also expect lower prices, with an average of 99.65 cents per litre.
