The Winnipeg Jets’ goalie rotation will continue through Christmas, head coach Paul Maurice said again today, meaning it’s Michael Hutchinson’s turn when the team meets the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center on Tuesday night.

Maurice had already said on the weekend that it was the most sensible plan going forward and that one off night by either Hutchinson or Ondrej Pavelec wasn’t going to change it.

“When you have two guys who have played exceptionally well, you can’t make a wrong call,” the coach said today before the team departed for the Windy City.

The Jets are 7-1-4 in their last 12, with just one regulation loss since Nov. 24. They are 17-10-7 for 41 points.

The Hawks, meanwhile, are streaking at 8-1-1 in their last 10, a move that has put them atop the Central Division at 23-9-2 for 48 points.

The last time the teams met was in Chicago Nov. 2, right around the time the Jets were starting to figure out their game.

That night, Hutchinson recorded a 1-0 shutout thanks to 33 saves.

“Chicago, every time you go to play against them, they have a lot of firepower,” the goalie said today. “You know you’re going to get a lot of chances against.

“As a team, we know they’re going to be coming. They have a lot of depth on their team so we’ll have to be ready right off the start.”

Winnipeg is 11-5-6 since that game in Chicago.

Chicago is 17-4-1 in that time.
