Evander Kane skated in a baby-blue no-contact jersey with the Winnipeg Jets this morning and says he’ll travel with the team hoping to play on the upcoming three-game road trip.

“It went good. I’m going on the trip and hoping to play on the trip at some point, for sure,” said Kane, who has been out since Dec. 27 after taking a shot in the foot. “It’s now a comfort level with taking contact and being able to withstand the demands of an NHL game.”

Kane was originally expected to be out until February but will certainly beat that deadline.

The Jets also placed defenceman Julien Brouillette on waivers, making it almost a certainty defencman Zach Bogosian will play Thursday in Arizona. Bogosian has been out of the lineup since Dec. 14 with a lower-body injury.

Jets coach Paul Maurice announced Ondrej Pavelec will be the starting goalie Thursday in Arizona but said he had not decided who would play Saturday in Los Angeles or Sunday in Anaheim.
