Hey there, time traveller!

A Winnipeg man is walking around with a little more weight in his wallet these days.
Newton Dalton is the city’s latest millionaire, thanks to a Lotto 6/49 win earlier this month. Dalton won $1 million in the guaranteed prize draw on Jan. 17, becoming the first Winnipegger to claim a winning ticket via the automatic prize since its inception in September 2013.
“I checked it on my computer on Saturday night,” Dalton said in a statement. “I didn’t win anything on my numbers, but I got to the bottom and I said, ‘What’s this? I think I won!’”
Dalton purchased his winning ticket from Bargains Galore and Tobacco (1428 Main St.).
As for his plans for the money, he’s keeping them modest: he’ll pay off his truck and clear off some bills, setting the rest of the lottery windfall aside for his retirement.
