Team Manitoba brought home gold from the 2015 Canadian senior men’s curling championships in Edmonton over the weekend.

The Manitoban foursome, skipped by Randy Neufeld out of La Salle Curling Club, orchestrated a 5-3 win over Quebec’s Ted Butler in the tournament final to claim the national title. They will now serve as Team Canada at the 2016 world senior championships, date and location to be announced.

An early deuce proved the difference for the Manitoban rink, which includes third Dean Moxham, second Peter Nicholls and lead Dale Michie. They never trailed in the game. “It’s crazy, winnining Manitoba was enough already,” Neufeld said in a release. “Lots of emotions, that’s for sure.”

It’s the 13th time Manitoba has claimed a Canadian senior men’s championship, the most of any province, and first since 2011.

Meanwhile, Manitoba skip Lois Fowler is preparing to represent Canada at the 2015 World Women’s Seniors, set to kick off April 18 in Sochi, Russia.
