Andrew Ladd didn’t sleep well. Mark Stuart needed a good on-ice workout to relieve some stress. And Tyler Myers, he’s still just ecstatic to be in meaningful games again – win or lose.

The Winnipeg Jets spent a good chunk of today working through the frustrations of Sunday night’s 4-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, a game that saw the tying goal scored while Toby Enstrom got mixed up with the linesman and the winner potted with 30 seconds left. They were understandably mad at the world Sunday night and, after meeting Monday morning, some opted to have an on-ice workout while others just wanted to vent and then look ahead to Tuesday’s home date with the New York Rangers.

“You try to shut it off at some point,” said Jets captain Andrew Ladd. “But last night… it took me a long time to get to sleep. It’s part of the gig.”

JOE BRYKSA / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Winnipeg Jets head coach Paul Maurice said today that the Jets could have their No. 1 centre Bryan Little back in the lineup against the Rangers Tuesday.

The Jets are 39-25-12, good for 90 points and the final Western Conference Wild Card spot heading into Monday night’s action. Calgary, just one point back and Los Angeles – two back – are in action tonight. The Jets play the third of a four-game homestand Tuesday against the New York Rangers.

“You have to be able to move past those situations,” said Ladd. “We’ve dealt with those things extremely well throughout the year, whether it was a tough game, a tough bounce or anything like that we’ve always come back with a really strong effort after that.

“The biggest thing is picking yourself up off the floor and getting excited again. I think everyone was pissed off last night and pissed off probably when they woke up this morning. You talk about it and that’s it. It’s over with and you’ve got to get ready to play another game. The best part about it is you have that chance to redeem yourself and we’re excited about that opportunity.”

“I haven’t been in this spot for quite some time,” added Myers. “But to be in this spot and be competing for a spot in the playoffs is exactly where a player wants to be. It’s why we play. Each and every guy in the room is going to work as hard as they can to keep us in that spot.”

The Jets could have No. 1 centre Bryan Little back in the lineup against the Rangers. He’s missed 11 games with a lower-body injury, but was among the crew that skated Monday morning. The club will see how he feels after Tuesday’s game-day skate before giving him the green light.

“He has a normal game-day routine tomorrow,” said Jets coach Paul Maurice. “We’ll see how he comes back after today and a little bumping at the end of practice. He’s gotten through everything off-ice that he needs to do. He will make the final call on this. He’s far enough along. We want to make a good decision… we’ve got five days if he doesn’t play (the Jets play again on Saturday against Vancouver) but at some point with all injuries it’s as good as it’s going to feel and you need to get into that full-blown contact so we’ll make that call tomorrow.”
