Hey there, time traveller!

Goalie Ondrej Pavelec, whose second-half surge has helped the Jets stay afloat in their bid for a Stanley Cup playoff spot, is the Winnipeg nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.
Members of the Winnipeg chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association made the nomination.
Pavelec’s name will apear on a ballot with nominees from the 29 other teams and be put to a vote of the PHWA’s general membership.
The annual award goes to the player judged to have displayed perseverance, dedication and sportsmanship. It is named for Winnipeg native Bill Masterton, who died as a result of injuries suffered in a game while playing with the Minnesota North Stars in 1968.
Pavelec, 27, had endured the ups and downs of the Jets and Atlanta Thrashers since 2009, and his own personal ebbs and flows, but has emerged to be an important factor in the most urgent part of the season.
For the numbers crowd, he has improved in significant ways this season with a little less icetime. He’s 19-16-7 so far this season and it’s in part due to his willingness to alter and refine some style and technical parts of his game over the most recent 18 months.
Pavelec also has two World Hockey Championship medals, gold from 2010 and a bronze from his more-outstanding 2011 tournament.
Pavelec and the Jets — including suspended Dustin Byfuglien — were on the ice this morning at the MTS Centre in their final preparation for Saturday afternoon’s home game against the Vancouver Canucks.
