The Winnipeg Jets open their first Stanley Cup playoff series in the new era on Thursday night in Anaheim against the Ducks.
The best-of-seven first-round series, a Pacific Division semifinal begins with a 9:30 p.m. CT start for Game 1.
The series will continue in Anaheim with Game 2 on Saturday at the same time, then returns to the MTS Centre for Games 3 and 4 on Monday April 20 and Wednesday April 22.
The starting times, clearly TV-driven, are not friendly for the games in Winnipeg. Game 3 begins at 8 p.m. CT, while Game 4 will have an 8:30 p.m. CT start.
The “if-necessary” games will be Friday, April 24 in Anaheim for Game 5, Sunday April 26 in Winnipeg for Game 6 and Tuesday April 28 in Anaheim for Game 7.
The Jets are into the Pacific Division bracket because they’re the second wild-card team from the Western Conference. The Ducks wound up first overall in the conference and earned the right to play the lowest wild-card team.
