The province has raised the speed limit to 110 km/h (from 100 km/h) on the TransCanada Highway west of Winnipeg.

Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation said the new limit was made possible after completion of increased safety measures, including improving intersections, paving shoulders, creating rumble strips and installing better signage and guard rails.

Motorists travelling through Virden, Brandon, Carberry, Portage la Prairie, Elie and Headingley must still slow down, just as they did when the speed limit was set at 100 km/h.
