Winnipeg’s Taylor Pischke is off to the Pan American Games after being named to Team Canada’s beach volleyball team Tuesday.

The former University of Manitoba Bisons national champion will be joined by her partner Melissa Humana-Paredes for the women’s event, which gets underway on July 13.

“Playing in the Pan American Games has always been a dream of mine since I was little when I had the chance to watch them in Winnipeg in 1999,” Pischke said in a press release. “I think getting the opportunity to compete in a tournament of this magnitude prior to the Olympic year is invaluable.”

Pischke is the daughter of two-time Olympic volleyball player Garth Pischke.
