Winnipeg police are asking for the public’s assistance after $28,000 worth of property, including professional camera equipment, was stolen from a vehicle parked downtown.

The owner of the property is not a Winnipeg resident. He came to the city from China, and told police he was in town to cover the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The equipment, along with other items, was locked inside a suitcase in the vehicle. The man’s luggage was stolen early on Wednesday, June 17.

Among the items stolen were two Nikon D4S cameras, three Nikon camera lenses, a Nikon SB-910 camera flash, a black Pelican two-wheeled suitcase with red and orange “fragile” stickers, and a GO PRO 3+ camera.
