Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 29/06/2015 (3755 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
Mike O’Shea said he hasn’t had to spend any time pointing out to newcomers or young players the importance of a Week 1 win in Saskatchewan.
The rebuilding goals of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are well known. So is the fact that the CFL team hadn’t won a game in Regina since 2004, so Saturday’s 30-26 victory last Saturday has meaning beyond two points in the standings.
“They’ll interact with their teammates enough that they’ll get the sense,” O’Shea said after today’s practice at Investors Group Field. “We’ve got a good group of young guys and I imagine there will be a few of them who’ve spent some time watching the veterans, seeing and trying to gain more understanding into being a pro and it’s not hard if you just pay attention… to see what it meant to some of them.”

The Bombers are into a short week of preparation for their next game, a Thursday encounter at IGF with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
O’Shea said today that defensive back Maurice Leggett is likely to return to the starting lineup after missing the opening week on the injured list.
“If he’s ready this week, he’ll go,” the coach said. “And I’m pretty sure he’ll be ready.”
The Bombers came out of their first game of the season without any major health issues, a bonus.
“Anytime you exit a game with guys healthy, it makes it easier for the next roster moves, for sure,” O’Shea said.
Today, the Bombers made two roster additions. They added international quarterback Dominique Davis and international defensive back Julian Posey to their practice roster.
Davis, who was with the Calgary Stampeders until the end of training camp, will take the place of Josh Portis, who was released.
Posey was with the Tiger-Cats for the second half of 2014.
The Bombers also released defensive back Don Unamba, receiver Tony Clemons and lineman Ettore Lattanzio from the practice roster.
