Hey there, time traveller!

Winnipeg’s own hockey hero, Jonathan Toews, is back in town and he’s got quite the piece of hardware with him.
Toews has the Stanley Cup in tow.
The star forward was a driving force for the Chicago Blackhawks, who captured the NHL championship last month over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Toews visited the Rehabilitation Centre for Children at 10:30 a.m. today, and the kids got their picture with the Hawks captain and the Stanley Cup. Toews also had the Mark Messier Leadership Trophy with him — he won it at this year’s NHL Awards. It is given to the player “who exemplifies great leadership qualities to his team, on and off the ice during the regular season.”
It was a private, invite-only meet-and-greet event only for children who are clients of the Rehabilitation Centre for Children and their families.
But the general public is welcome when Toews brings the Stanley Cup to the community centre named after him – the Jonathan Toews Sportsplex – at 1188 Dakota St., from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. today.
