Lego ain’t just for kids anymore.

Never was this more apparent than at the grand opening of the iconic toy brand’s first Winnipeg store at Polo Park Shopping Centre Friday morning.

Sure, there were some kids there, excited to meet Lego master builder Paul Chrzan, but behind almost every one of them was a super pumped up parent.

Kids — both big and small — helped Chrzan build an eight-foot tall model of Jedi master Yoda from Star Wars Fame in the mall’s centre court.

Chrzan said he fully expected to see a cross-section of people at the store this weekend, including fans of both Lego and Star Wars.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if there were Storm Troopers here this weekdend. I’ve seen Princess Leia at events and Darth Vadar has come several times, too,” he said.
