Forget Netflix, Murdoch Mysteries reruns, Monday Night Football, or even — gasp — going outside. Tonight is the long-awaited debut of Winnipeg School Division’s livestreaming of its school board meetings.
School trustees promised earlier this year that they would make meetings more accessible, and planned the livestreaming even before Education Minister James Allum gave them a Dec. 31 deadline to overhaul their governance problems with much greater openness and transparency.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
The Free Press has embedded the school division’s livestream player above, or the player can be accessed on the school board’s website.
We’d like to know what you think of the livestreaming: could you access it? How were the sound and visuals? Any ideas for improvements? Please let us know at email@example.com.
