TORONTO — Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive end Jamaal Westerman is the team’s nominee as Most Outstanding Player, top defensive player and top Canadian in 2015.
The CFL on Thursday announced the individual player nominees for all nine CFL teams and Westerman took down half of Winnipeg’s nominations for the league’s year-end individual player awards, which will be announced during Grey Cup week.
The Bombers other award nominees are Stanley Bryant for top offensive lineman; returner Troy Stoudermire for top special teams player; and linebacker Khalil Bass as top rookie.

Westerman is second in the league in sacks this season with 15 in what is his first year in the CFL after a five-year career in the NFL.
The Bombers (5-12) missed the playoffs for the fourth straight season in 2015. They will finish up their regular season with a meaningless game Friday night in Toronto against the Argonauts, who will finish third in the East Division regardless of Friday’s result.
