Led by rookie forward Nikolaj Ehlers, the Winnipeg Jets skated to a 5-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes at MTS Centre Tuesday night.

Ehlers recorded his first career hat trick, scoring his third goal 14 minutes and 31 seconds into the second period. Dustin Byfuglien added the other two for Winnipeg, including the Jets’ third goal, which was scored with a shot from the centre-line and their fifth goal, which came while the Jets were killing off a 5-on-3. Brad Richardson broke a 4-0 Jets lead for the Coyotes’ first goal and Anthony Duclair added another in the dying seconds of the game.

Connor Hellebuyck turned in a 35-save performance to earn his 12th win, improving to 12-9-1 on the year. Louis Domingue earns the loss, allowing five goals on 25 shots before being replaced by Anders Lindback for the start of the third period.
