After ending regulation and overtime in a 1-1 stalemate, Blake “Wheels” Wheeler and Andrew “Laddy” Ladd scored in the shootout to give the Jets the 2-1 SO win in Edmonton.
After a scoreless first period, the Jets carried a 1-0 lead into the third period after Blake Wheeler bugled the twine on a beauty setup from Nikolaj Ehlers with the second assist going to Bryan Little. Edmonton tied the game with a short-handed goal from Matt Hendricks in the third.
Ondrej Pavelec returned to the net for the first time in more than two months, missing the last 33 games with a sprained right knee. He made 21 saves in the win, stopping two of the Oilers’ three shooters.

ABOUT THE OILERS
The Oilers snapped a three-game losing skid with a 5-2 win over Toronto Thursday night, sparked by a five-point game from rookie C Connor McDavid.
McDavid had two goals and three assists and now has 12 points in the six games he has played since returning from a broken collarbone.
RW Jordan Eberle shared in the big night Thursday, recording a hat trick against the Leafs and had four points.
LW Taylor Hall, the Oilers point leader with 50, has no points in four games.
G Cam Talbot recorded the win Thursday, making 34 saves. The last time the Jets and Oilers met, just before Christmas, Talbot was brilliant, winning 3-1 though his team was outshot 45-21. The Jets and Oilers wrap up their season series March 6 in Winnipeg.
Edmonton, a respectable 15-10-1 at home this season, is 8-17-4 against Western Conference teams, and 2-10-1 against the Central Division.
