The Winnipeg Jets were defeated 2-1 by the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C., tonight.

Jordan Staal scored his 13th of the season on the power play midway through the opening frame. Riley Nash added a extra-man marker midway through period two. Blake Wheeler’s 16th goal of the season got the Jets on the board in the third period, but despite outshooting the Canes 13-7 in the frame the Jets couldn’t get the equalizer.

Ondrej Pavelec faced 29 shots while the Jets fired 21 shots at Hurricanes goaltender Eddie Lack.
