The Manitoba Liberals have announced that Child and Family Services professional Kyra Wilson will carry the party banner in Fort Richmond, a constituency now held by the NDP’s Kerri Irvin-Ross.
Wilson most recently worked in the family advocate office for the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs.
She said changes are needed in the Child and Family Services system.
“I’m here because I want to be a strong advocate for Manitobans, but especially for our children and for our families. We have too many children in care,” Wilson said Monday as she was introduced as a candidate by party leader Rana Bokhari.
Sarah Guillemard is the Progressive Conservatives’ candidate in the constituency.
