Jakob Silfverberg scored late in overtime to give the Anaheim Ducks a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets at the MTS Centre.
Silfverberg notched his 13th of the season, taking a pass from Ryan Kesler before potting the rebound on his second shot on Michael Hutchinson.
The Jets fall to 29-37-6 with the loss, while the win improves the Ducks’ season record to 40-22-9.
Even after the first period at 1-1, the teams once again traded goals in the second. Blake Wheeler evened the score at 2-2 just over six minutes into the second frame, erasing a 2-1 edge for the Ducks, who scored just 20 seconds into the second period with a goal from Kesler.
Paul Postma opened the scoring in the first period with his first of the season. Jamie McGinn, who earlier in the period dropped the gloves with Adam Lowry, tipped home his 19th off the season on the power play, redirecting a shot from Kevin Bieksa to tie the game at the 16:01 mark.
