CALGARY – Rene Paredes hit a 52-yard-field goal with no time left on the clock to give the Calgary Stampeders a 36-34 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at McMahon Stadium.
With the win, Calgary improves to 11-1-1 on the year, extending their winning streak to 10 games. The loss drops the Bombers to 8-5 on the year and snaps their streak of seven consecutive games.
FOURTH QUARTER

The Bombers refused to go away in the fourth quarter.
First, Nichols cut the Stampeders lead to 10 points with a one-yard touchdown run. After that, it was the defence who stepped up as linebacker Tony Burnett forced a fumble and Khalil Bass raced the ball back 16 yards for the touchdown, cutting it to a three-point game, 30-27.
After Paredes’ fourth field goal made it 33-27, the Bombers looked to complete the comeback with a touchdown from Julian Feoli-Gudino with just 20 seconds left on the clock.
Calgary then marched the field and Paredes, with no time left in the game, hit a 52-yard field goal – his fifth – to win the game for the Stamps, 36-34.
THIRD QUARTER
After Paredes hit his third field goal of the game to give the Stampeders a 30-7 lead, the Bombers countered with a touchdown. Nichols would find Weston Dressler in the end zone, but Calgary would challenge the play and the call was overturned.
It wouldn’t matter, however, as Nichols connected with Clarence Denmark 41 seconds later for the score to cut the Stamps lead to 30-14.
SECOND QUARTER
Calgary continued to set the tone in the second quarter, adding two more touchdowns to increase their lead to 24-0.
Mitchell threw for his second touchdown of the game on the Stamps first drive of the frame, finding Lemar Durant for a 14-yard catch for the score.
After the Calgary intercepted Matt Nichols and returned the ball to midfield, running back Jerome Messam drove through the Bombers defensive line four plays later for a 15-yard rushing TD.
In desperate need of a spark, the Bombers would eventually find some life from running back Timothy Flanders. Flanders, in for an injured Andrew Harris for a second straight game, converted a Bombers third-and-one into a 50-yard rushing touchdown.
Paredes added his second field goal with 1:05 left in the quarter to make it a 27-7 game for Calgary.
FIRST QUARTER
The Stampeders started with the ball and quickly marched up field for a touchdown. Bo Levi Mitchell capped off the seven-play, 64-yard drive by hitting Kamar Jorden from five yards out to make it a 7-0 game.
Rene Paredes would add to the lead on Calgary’s second drive, hitting a 27-yard field goal to make it 10-0.
