Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 01/12/2016 (3228 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
Left-winger Marko Dano survived his close encounter with an opponent’s stick on Tuesday night and will return to the Winnipeg Jets’ lineup tonight against the visiting Edmonton Oilers at 7 p.m. (TSN3, TSN 1290).
The 22-year-old Dano, who needed 10 stitches to close the wound on his nose and another three stitches for a cut near his right eye after being high-sticked by New Jersey Devils defenceman Kyle Quincey, participated in his team’s pre-game skate this morning after getting medical clearance to play.
“I was just hoping that everything was fine and kinda scared when I sat down in the chair and everything was blurry,” said Dano, who wears a visor but won’t have any extra protection tonight. “I went to the doctor’s office and he checked on it and said everything was fine. I got lucky there.”

Dano is expected to slot in on the left side of a line with centre Adam Lowry and right-winger Brandon Tanev.
The Jets, meanwhile, will also welcome veteran forward Mathieu Perreault back. Perreault missed 14 games with an upper-body injury and will start as the left-winger on the club’s fourth line with Chris Thorburn and centre Andrew Copp.
Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck will start his sixth straight game and his 13th in Winnipeg’s last 15.
