The Colorado storm that hit Manitoba Sunday evening is causing distress to many City of Winnipeg departments.
The City of Winnipeg is asking all citizens and drivers to stay off the road and to only travel if absolutely necessary. Residential streets have lots of snow, and snow clearing operations are currently working on regional and bus route roadways.
The Trans-Canada Highway has been closed throughout Manitoba from the Saskatchewan border all the way to the Ontario border due to poor weather conditions, low visibility and impassable roads.

The City also said weather conditions are affecting the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, so their response times are longer than usual. The City will assist with emergencies if WFPS needs.
Winnipeg Transit is having delays too due to road conditions and weather. The City is asking all transit users to allow for extra travel time and to check their schedules before leaving their houses. Winnipeg Transit is operating on a holiday schedule.
Handi-Transit has cancelled all trip except for dialysis appointments.
Recycling and garbage collection is also delayed from the mass amounts of snow. The City of Winnipeg asks people with Monday pickup days to leave their carts out until the City can collect them.
People can check updates on city services through the City of Winnipeg’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. facebook.com/cityofwinnipeg @CityofWinnipeg.
