Liberal leadership candidates Judy Klassen and Cindy Lamoureux will make a joint announcement Tuesday morning about the provincial leadership race.

Lamoureux declined late Monday night in an exchange on Twitter to disclose what the two will be announcing, but said her news conference with Klassen will be held at The Forks at 11 a.m.

The two MLAs are running for the Liberal provincial leadership along with MLA Jon Gerrard and Dougald Lamont.

Candidates have until Sept. 20 to enter the race, which will be decided in Winnipeg Oct. 21.

Klassen stepped down last month as interim leader to take a shot at the permanent position. She could not be reached Monday night.

The permanent job has been vacant since former leader Rana Bokhari resigned last year after the Liberals won three seats in the April provincial election, but fell far short of the gains that pre-election polls suggested they could make.
