The University of Winnipeg’s president and vice-chancellor will continue in those roles for another term.
At the school’s board of regents last night, Annette Trimbee, who assumed those roles in August 2014, was unanimously confirmed for a second term, which will run until June 30, 2024.
“I am honoured to be serving a second term at (U of W),” Trimbee said in a news release.

“(U of W) is home to so many talented faculty, staff and students who come to campus everyday performing at a world-class level, adding value and resilience to our community. It is inspiring.”
Highlights of her first term include a university-wide strategic directions plan and the construction of Leatherdale Hall. In addition, she oversaw the introduction of an Indigenous Course Requirement for all undergraduate students.
Trimbee also serves on the boards of Universities Canada, USports and Manitoba Hydro.
“The board of regents is pleased to reappoint Trimbee for another term, said Albina Moran, chair of the board. “She has provided top-tier leadership and we see great things in the future for the university.”
She holds a bachelors degree from U of W, a masters from the University of Manitoba and a PhD from McMaster University.
Previously, Trimbee served as deputy minister for several departments in the Alberta government.
