Hey there, time traveller!

So, you really like Christmas? And you’re in the market for a cabin where it’s always the most wonderful time of the year?
Well, ho-ho-holy cow! This could be your lucky day.
Kildonan Place mall is selling its 12-year-old Santa’s Christmas Cabin display after upgrading last year.
The ad, on buy-and-sell website Kijiji, has Santa’s old digs listed for $2,000.
The display, purchased new from a Montreal-based builder, had been used as the mall’s destination for children’s visits and photographs with Santa since 2007.
“I am up for talking with anyone who would be interested in buying it, said Corey Quintaine, the mall’s marketing manager.
“Ultimately, it would be great to see it in a spot where it can be used to make Christmas memories for thousands more children.”
Quintaine said a new Santa display, featuring “whimsical giant toys” had a well-received debut in December, so the mall decided to put the old one on offer.
The only thing is, prospective buyers have to consider location, location, location. The footprint is about 700 square feet and some pieces are four metres high.
The whole setup includes Santa’s tree-stump mailbox, some pre-lit trees, several large fibreglass mice sporting winter gear, a tree-trunk table and four padded tree-stump stools and, of course, the best feature of all:
“There’s the big Santa chair, too, which has seen thousands of memories throughout the years, Quintaine said. “I’m sure that chair has heard lots of Christmas wishes and some secrets along the way, too.”
The Kijiji listing was considered to be the best way to get the word out to a wide audience, he said.
“There’s a little bit of wear-and-tear, but it’s always been stored safely and so it is in surprisingly good condition for something of its age and use,” he said.
The ad, headlined “Santa Set/Christmas decor,” notes that the buyer will have to load and transport the display using their own tools, equipment and crew. It asks that interested buyers indicate if they are an individual or with a business, non-profit, charity or community group.
There have been more than 700 visits since it was posted Wednesday.
