KINGSTON, Ont. — Team Wild Card curlers were front and centre this afternoon when the Brier 2020 all-stars were announced.
All four members of the Mike McEwen team from West St. Paul were named to either the first or second all-star teams, Curling Canada announced.
First Team
Skip — Brendan Bottcher, Alberta
Third — Reid Carruthers, Wild Card
Second — E.J. Harnden, Northern Ontario
Lead — Colin Hodgson, Wild Card
Second Team
Skip — Mike McEwen, Wild Card
Third — Marc Kennedy, Northern Ontario
Second — Derek Samagalski, Wild Card
Lead — Ben Hebert, Team Canada
Hodgson was named the recipient of the Ross Harstone Sportsmanship Award, presented each year to the player chosen by his peers as “the curler in the Brier who best represents the ideals of good sportsmanship, observance of the rules, exemplary conduct and curling ability.”
