Louie, Mr. Bruck Jack and Ms. Priti Mehta-Shah as the independent trustees of A+ REIT who, together with management representatives Mr. Don White, CEO, and
Mr. Karl Loepp, COO, comprise the Board of Trustees of A+ REIT. In addition to his appointment as an independent trustee, Mr. Robert Louie will serve as Chairman
of A+ REIT.

Private Pension Partners Inc., the asset manager of Apartment Plus Real Estate Investment Trust (“A+ REIT”), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Robert Louie, Mr. Bruck Jack and Ms. Priti Mehta-Shah as the independent trustees of A+ REIT who, together with management representatives Mr. Don White, CEO, and Mr. Karl Loepp, COO, comprise the Board of Trustees of A+ REIT. In addition to his appointment as an independent trustee, Mr. Robert Louie will serve as Chairmanof A+ REIT.

 

Appointed Independent Trustee and Chairman, Mr. Robert Louie: 

LL.B. Hon. Dr. LL. B, Hon. Fellow Okanagan College. Recipient of the Order of Canada.

Mr. Louie is the former Chief of the self-governing Westbank First Nation located in Kelowna, British Columbia. He is currently the Chairman of the First Nations Lands Advisory Board and he is also the Chairman / Director of Peace Hills Trust. He is a founding shareholder and a director of Decisive Dividend Corporation (TSXV: DE), a director with Ecora Engineering, and is the owner of Indigenous World Winery and Distillery, Kelowna West Manufacturing Home Park, and several other businesses.

Mr. Louie is a former practicing lawyer who specialized in native law. He served on the B.C. First Nations Summit Task Group and was actively involved in B.C. Treaty negotiations representing First Nations. Over the past 30 years, Mr. Louie has been active on numerous boards and special appointments, including: (i) Indigenous advisor representing Canada on the World Indigenous Business Forum, where he networked with other leaders promoting Indigenous economic development and world trade; (ii) Board member and Executive Committee member of the B.C. Achievement Foundation; (iii) Member of the Board of Governors of The University of British Columbia; (iv) Member of the President’s Advisory Council with UBC – Okanagan; (v) Board Director of the National Aboriginal Economic Development Board; (vi) President of First Nations Finance Authority Inc.; (vii) Board Director of All Nations Trust Co. (viii) One of a nine member Premier’s Advisory Council to the Premier of British Columbia; (ix) Board Director on the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce; (x) Board Director and founding member of the Kelowna United Native Friendship Society.

Mr. Louie has been the recipient of many awards and distinguished presentations, including: (i) Lifetime B.C. Achievement Award for Aboriginal Business; (ii) Distinguished Alumni Business Administration, Okanagan College; (iii) Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal; (iv) Excellence in Aboriginal Leadership from Aboriginal Financial Officers Association & Xerox Canada; (v) Business Person of the Year and President’s Award, Westbank Chamber of Commerce; (vi) Recipient of Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of Canada; (vii) Officer of the Order of Canada.

 

Appointed Independent Trustee, Mr. Bruce Jack:

FCPA, FCA, B.Comm (Honors).

Mr. Jack is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, Manitoba Chapter, a member of The Chartered Professional Accountants of Manitoba and was awarded the FCA (Fellowship) designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba in 2005 and has been a member of numerous professional boards and committees including The Manitoba Securities Commission Advisory Committee, the TSX Venture Exchange Local Advisory Committee and the Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba. He is currently serving as a Director of Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company and several private corporations and served as a Trustee and Audit Committee Chair of Artis Real Estate Investment Trust from 2017 until 2020.

Mr. Jack was an Audit Partner with Deloitte LLP for 30 years where he developed extensive knowledge in matters of financial reporting, controls and corporate governance with experience serving large, complex companies. He worked closely with senior management, participated in Board and Audit Committee meetings and has developed a comprehensive understanding of the role of the Board of Directors and its various committees in leading and overseeing the overall direction and strategy of an organization. 

 

Appointed Independent Trustee, Ms. Priti Mehta-Shah:

FCPA, FCA, CBV, CF, ICD.D

Ms. Mehta- Shah is currently the President of Mehta Capital Partners and is a leading transaction services advisor who has provided valuable guidance to clients in Canada and around the world for the past 30 years. Priti’s expertise includes assisting clients in the sale of their businesses by identifying and screening appropriate purchasers that yields premium pricing for the vendor and effectively negotiating and structuring the entire transaction. Prior to starting Mehta Capital, Priti was a partner and in charge of Corporate Finance for Western Canada at BDO Canada LLP. She is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and was awarded the fellowship – FCPA in 2018.

She is a past chair of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, The Entrepreneurs Organization and The Women’s Enterprise Center. 

Priti currently sits on the boards of Assiniboine Credit Union, Red River Mutual and the RBC Convention Center.

 

Trustee, Mr. Don White:

CFA, CPA, CGA, B. Comm (Honors); Master of Accountancy.

Mr. White is the Chief Executive Officer of A+ REIT and the Chief Executive Officer, a director, and co-founder of the Private Pension Partners group of companies where he leads the asset management, property management, and leasing services teams. Mr. White was a commercial real estate broker at Colliers International for almost 27 years where he focused exclusively on the sale of major investment properties, gaining valuable operational and value enhancement experience in transactions representing institutional, pension fund, real estate investment trust and high net worth clients. Mr. White was consistently a top brokerage performer for Colliers International in Canada, earning the International Award of Excellence for the years 2002 through 2020 inclusive, with his investment team completing nearly $3.0 billion in real estate trades since 2000. 

 

Trustee, Mr. Karl Loepp: 

Mr. Loepp is the Chief Operating Officer of A+ REIT and the Chief Operating Officer, a director, and co-founder of the Private Pension Partners group of companies, where he leads the development team. 

Karl has over 30 years of experience in property development and redevelopment, construction management and construction services. Karl has successfully led over $500 million of development in purpose built multi-family apartment buildings in the past 10 years with Private Pension Partners. Karl started his career as a tradesman and as a business owner of Valour Decorating and Lola Construction Management. 

Karl is the Chair of the Manitoba Centennial Centre Corporation, and has been a director of a number of publicly traded companies on the TSX Venture Exchange, and has chaired numerous community and charitable organizations in Manitoba. He is a recent graduate of the REALPAC, Real Property program from Ryerson University.
