A man was held captive in a Brandon home for five days while being assaulted with a hair iron, edged weapons, a bike chain and solid wooden objects, police said.
The Brandon Police Service has charged four people who allegedly kept abused the man last week. Another suspect is still wanted by police.
Officers responded to a report a man had been assaulted and was suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries at about 6 a.m. Friday, police said.
An investigation by the BPS major crimes unit found a 25-year-old man had been forcibly held against his will by four people at a home in the 300 block of 11th Street.
The area is a block south of the Brandon courthouse and contains mostly houses. No police presence was visible Monday afternoon.
Police said the victim was held there from Jan. 24 until he was released Friday. He was treated at the hospital for his injuries.
Ieesha MacDonald, 23, Cody Wood, 23, and Robert Creasy, 56, are charged with forcible confinement, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and robbery.
All three appeared briefly in court Monday and are scheduled to appear in court again Thursday. No details on the alleged incident came up in court Monday.
Police have an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Sebastian Longclaws, who is charged with forcible confinement, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and robbery.
