A fire station’s garage door is in shambles after police say a woman stole a fire truck and drove through it in the city’s east end Thursday morning.
Toronto police responded to a call around 4:45 a.m. in Toronto’s beach neighbourhood after reports someone had stolen a fire truck from Toronto Fire Station 227 near Queen Street East and Woodbine Avenue.
The woman reportedly gained entry through a side door and drove through the bay door.

The woman proceeded to drive the stolen truck for a short time before police were able to stop the vehicle near the Portlands.
A 28-year-old woman has been arrested and remains in police custody. Toronto police say charges are pending.
The theft does not appear to be related to any protest or convoy and charges are pending, police told the Star.
No injuries were reported as a result of the theft.
