Hey there, time traveller!

Manitoba Public Insurance will reopen its Main Street service centre Thursday to regular operations, after nearly two years serving solely as a COVID-19 testing site.
The Crown corporation said the Shared Health-operated drive-thru testing site will remain at the service centre at 1284 Main St., but front counter services (such as licence photos and payments), driver testing and oral knowledge testing appointments will resume for the first time since March 31, 2020.
On March 1, MPI suspended its vaccination policy for services and appointments. Previously, people who were not fully vaccinated or didn’t want to say were not able to use services or book appointments where distancing or barriers weren’t possible. That included road tests and driver assessments.
That policy applied to all MPI consultants, volunteers, board members and contractors, as well as students and instructors for its driver education program.
However, the Crown corporation still has some pandemic policies in place. That includes a (preferably medical) mask mandate, physical distancing in waiting rooms and pre-screening questions prior to appointments or services.
MPI won’t remove plexi-glass barriers at the centre.
“MPI is slowly returning to regular business operations,” MPI president and chief executive officer Eric Herbelin said in a statement Wednesday.
