Winnipeg police made three arrests following a chaotic series of incidents and a standoff in West Broadway over the weekend.
On Friday morning, police officers saw a man parking a stolen truck behind an apartment on the 300 block of Langside Street, the Winnipeg Police Service said Monday.
They drove their cruiser in front of the stolen vehicle and got out to arrest him, but the suspect rammed the police cruiser, narrowly missing the two officers.
The suspect then drove into oncoming traffic and fled. Police gave up their pursuit.
On Saturday, officers pursuing a different man for illegally possessing several guns got a search warrant for a home on Langside Street. They spotted that suspect at about 6:50 p.m. near Broadway and Furby Street, and arrested him following a short foot chase.
Just before 9 p.m., heavily armed tactical officers executed the warrant and took several people into custody, but the man from the Friday vehicle incident, who was inside, refused to leave.

Crisis negotiators got involved and the suspect was eventually coaxed out Sunday at 6:40 a.m. Officers seized four loaded guns and ammunition.
In the vehicle incident, a 30-year-old Winnipeg man is charged with two counts of assault a peace officer with a weapon, flight while pursued by a peace officer, dangerous operation of a conveyance, possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of fail to comply with a probation order and fail to comply with a release order.
In 2020, that suspect got 12 months supervised probation for an assault charge, court records show. Last year he was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation for drug possession.
The 33-year-old Winnipeg man who was arrested after the foot chase is charged with 14 firearms offences and two counts of fail to comply with a release order.
He was convicted of assaulting a police officer with a weapon in 2021, records show. In the same incident, he was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property. He was sentenced to 730 days served, plus another 505 days.
A 25-year-old woman is charged with 10 firearms offences.
