Four people were stabbed in Winnipeg in just under 24 hours this weekend.
The first three victims were found within 40 minutes early Saturday morning.
Police found the first victim at about 1:20 a.m. Saturday at Ellice Avenue and Sherbrook Street. A 31-year-old man sustained superficial wounds to his upper-body, the Winnipeg Police Service said Sunday.
He was taken to hospital in stable condition. Police believe several people robbed the victim on the nearby 400 block of Sherbrook Street.
Major crimes police are investigating and have not announced any arrests.
In Lord Selkirk Park, 10 minutes later, officers were called to the 200 block of Stella Walk for another reported stabbing, where they found a 19-year-old man with injuries to his upper body.
Police gave him medical care before he was taken to hospital in unstable condition. He’s had surgery and is expected to live, police said.
Police believe one man approached the victim on the 800 block of Main Street and stabbed him unprovoked. Major crimes police have announced no arrests.
A half an hour later, at 2 a.m., police were called to the 200 block of Austin Street in Point Douglas, where a 35-year-old woman was stabbed in the lower body.
She was taken to hospital in unstable condition, where she was stabilized. Major crimes police have not made any arrests.
On Sunday, around 1 a.m., police were called to the 100 block of Kate Street for a reported stabbing. They found a 21-year-old man who had been stabbed in the upper body. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he was stabilized. Police have made no arrests and the victim declined further assistance, police said.
