Valour FC’s Sean Rea has been named the best Canadian under-21 player, the Canadian Premier League announced Friday.
The 20-year-old Montreal product, on loan to the Winnipeg side from the CF Montreal of the MLS for the past two seasons, finished the regular season with five goals and a league-leading nine assists for Valour.
He won the CPL’s player of the month honours for August, after picking up two goals and two assists and twice earning the Performance of the Match award for the Winnipeggers.
