The Santa Claus Parade is happening Saturday, and related road closures will begin that morning.
So-called block parties, with local organizations hosting activities and events along the parade route, begin at 2 p.m.
The parade begins at Portage Avenue and Main Street at 3 p.m. and ends at Memorial Boulevard and Broadway.

Southbound Main Street from Portage to York avenues will be closed at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Other road closures begin at 11 a.m., including:
- Portage Avenue (both directions) from Main Street to Memorial Boulevard
- Northbound Fort Street from St. Mary to Portage avenues
- Memorial Boulevard from Portage Avenue to Broadway
- Eastbound York Avenue between Kennedy and Fort streets
- Edmonton Street between Portage and Graham avenues
- Vaughan Street between Portage and Graham avenues
All other north-south streets between Main Street and Memorial Boulevard will be open only to local traffic and for parkade access between Ellice Avenue and Broadway.
Broadway, Memorial and northbound Main will remain open throughout the day but are expected to be high-traffic areas, the City of Winnipeg said in a news release Friday.
Turning and other restrictions will be in place on Ellice, York, Broadway, and Portage east of Main.
The closures are expected to be lifted shortly after 5 p.m.
Parade organizers advise people attending to dress in warm layers and to pack extra mittens or gloves, headwear and scarves.
