Manitoba Public Insurance announced on Tuesday the Crown corporation has created a new “check my claim” feature on its website.

Owners of personal vehicles, with existing physical damage claims, will be able to get updated information including progress updates, summary of insurance coverage, liability percentage and details of upcoming appointments.

Marnie Kacher, MPI chief operations officer, said in a statement a customer survey found most Manitobans want to access such information online.

“We know one of the top reasons customers call MPI’s contact centre or their adjuster is to get an update on their physical damage claim,” Kacher said.

“As a customer-centric organization, MPI listened and moved quickly to create a solution that meets both needs while supporting the important work of our adjusting teams throughout the province.”

The feature is only for claims made after May 5. Owners will need to input the claim number, document number, and the email address used when the claim was filed.
